R. Crumb launched Weirdo in the early 80’s as a home for his own output and a chance to expose the work of newcomers to the field. He brought public recognition to such outstanding creators as Peter Bagge, who edited the magazine for several issues later in the series. Some issues are still in print, others are now in the Collectors’ Items category.
